Alice Gomez

Alice Gomez, 68, of Odessa passed away on Wednesday, April 9th, 2014 in Odessa, Texas.
Visitation will be at Martinez Funeral Home on Saturday, April 12th from 1pm to 9pm and a Rosary will be held on Sunday, April 13th at 7:00pm at Martinez Funeral Home. Funeral services will held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Monday April 14th at 1:00pm with Father Joe Uecker and Father Michael Rodriguez officiating. Burial will follow at Ector Cemetery in Los Angeles Garden.
Alice was born in Ft. Stockton, Texas to Johnny and Adela Gallego on February 18, 1946. Alice was preceded in death by her father Johnny Gallego, mother Adela Gallego and brother John Joe Gallego.
Alice is survived by her husband of 52 years, Luz Gomez Jr. Daughters Dianna Cruz, husband Manuel, Sandra Marquez, husband Joe. Grandchildren Jessica Marichalar, husband Albert, Tina Hughes, husband Paul and Joseph Marquez. Greatgrandchildren Zachary Cruz, Nicholas Cadena, Arianna Hughes, Marissa Hughes, Joshua Marichalar and CJ Marichalar, all from Odessa.
Alice was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where she served as a Eucharistic Minister, taught Baptismal classes, and supported her husband and his brother Knights in all their endeavors.
Alice worked at Southwest Retina Eye Center Dr. Jose Mayans as a C.O.T. for 20 years.
The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to everyone that was there to support us through this difficult time. Special thanks to the Franco and Garcia family and most especially to the Rodriguez family, you were always there and we will be forever grateful.
