It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Aida Rodriguez Garcia, a devoted wife, mother, and cherished friend, on September 16, 2024, at the age of 90. She was surrounded by her loving family, who will forever miss her warmth, kindness, and unwavering support.
Aida was born on July 3, 1934, in Los Guerra, Tamaulipas, Mexico and throughout her life, she touched the lives of all who knew her. As a caring wife to Baldemar L. Garcia for 48 years, she offered love and strength through all of life’s joys and challenges. Together, they built a home filled with laughter, love, and lasting memories.
Aida is survived by a son, Baldemar Garcia, Jr. and Brenda (McAllen) and five daughters, Aida Garcia Castillo and Jerry (Cedar Park), Aleyda Garcia (Odessa), Adriana Garcia (Caldwell), Victoria Garcia Salgado and Salvador (Odessa), Thalia Garcia O’Hanlon and Kevin (San Antonio). Aida cherished the time she shared with grandchildren: Olivia, Regina, Megan, Matt, Max, Alec, Steven, Marissa, Salvador, Rebecca, Julia and Cristina as well as two great-granddaughters: Taylor and Harper. In addition, she is survived by her devoted sister Martha Olivares, who shared a lifetime of cherished memories.
Her selflessness and love extended beyond her family. Aida was known for her generosity and her dedication to her community. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will live on in the hearts of her loved ones and all who were fortunate enough to know her. Rest in peace, Aida.
Visitation will be held Thursday September 19, 2024 from 2:00PM - 9:00PM at Martinez Funeral Home with a Rosary at 7:00PM. Mass will be held at 10:00AM Friday September 20, 2024 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church with Father Frank Chavez Officiating. Burial will follow at Ector County Cemetery ~Rosehill Section.
