On Saturday, September 1st Adrian Rodney Smith got his first taste of fried

chicken, pizza and root beer in a long time when the Lord served it to him in

Heaven. He got to eat it with his dad, Avery Lee Smith, his Grandparents

Gene and Pauline Kloss, his step dad Michael Byrd, his Aunt Kathy Kloss

and numerous other aunt, uncles, family members and friends. Those he left

behind were his mom, Marlene Byrd, his brother, Matthew Smith, his

Grandparents Avery and Lenora Smith, his special caregiver Becky Lujan

and many others that will miss him in his passing. Adrian will always be

remembered for his helpfulness to everyone, his loving ways towards all

and his jokester personality that made him want to see everyone laugh.

Adrian was unique in that he did not understand prejudice. The concept of

differences in people made no sense to him. Everyone he met was just a new

friend to give a smile to. When the Lord said we should all have a child like

faith Adrian was the definition of that ideal. His trusting and generous spirit

almost made it impossible to not have a smile on your face after you meet

   him.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Adrian on Thursday September 6, 2018 at Latter Rain Ministries at 10 am in Odessa, Texas at 305 W. 19 St.

Visitation will be held Wednesday September 5,2018 from 1pm - 9pm at Martinez Funeral Home in Odessa Texas at 1040 S. Dixie.

Adrian had worked for many years as a sacker for Albertson's first at their

8th street location and then later at the 42nd street store. Though health made

him have to retire early he still talked about getting to go back to work

where he could once again meet and greet so many people in a day.

Adrian spent several years as a member of the "Dynamic" Grandview Lions

Club. He donated his time to many of their projects and spent many years in

   the office of Tail Twister.

Over the years Adrian had been treated by many wonderful folks in the

medical field and he would always try to make any moment with them as

light as he could on them no matter what procedure he was going through.

We are going to miss you "Drain" but we understand that you can now once

again work the kid's church for the Lord.

Arrangements are entrusted to Martinez Funeral Home in Odessa, Texas.
