Maria Barragan

Maria Barragan, 76 years old, of Ojinaga, Chih., passed away on December 30, 2019 in Odessa, TX.  Visitation will be Thursday January 2, 2020 at Martinez Funeral Home & Crematory, outside chapel from 9am thru 9pm with a Prayer Service at 6pm.  Funeral services will be held Friday January 3, 2020 at Martinez Funeral Home & Crematory, outside chapel with Pastor Filomeno Garcia, officiating.  Burial will follow at Ector County Cemetery, Rosehill Section.

Maria Barragan was born in Ojinaga, Chih. to Isidro Hinojos and Augustina Arras Hinojos on August 15, 1943.  She married Arturo Barragan in Ojinaga, Chih., and they raised eight children.  She was a homemaker.  She loved to cook and was well known as always having fresh tortillas.  She was a Christian and a pillar of strength for the whole family and a true believer of the lord.  She loved her children and grandchildren, over all she loved family time.  She loved to sing at local churches with her husband.  She had a big heart just like her big family.  She will be missed dearly.

Maria Barragan is preceded in death by her husband Arturo Barragan, parents Isidro and Augustina A. Hinojos, her brother Victor M. Hinojos.  She is survived by her children six sons:  Arturo Barragan, Gilberto Barragan, Francisco Barragan, Cruz Barragan, Martin Barragan, and Enrique Barragan; two girls:  Hortencia Paredes, and Libby Barragan; Two brothers:  Paulo Hinojos and Isidro Hinojos; Five sisters: Genoveva Hinojos, Imelda H.  Carrasco, Elvira Hinojos, Veronica H. Salazar, Margarita Hinojos.

Pallbearers will be:  Arturo Barragan, Francisco Barragan, Cruz Barragan, Martin Barragan, Enrique Barragan, Gilberto Barragan, and Aaron Barragan.

Arrangements are entrusted to Martinez Funeral Home & Crematory.
