Guadalupe was born in Sanderson, TX to Manuel and Mary Jane Nieto on February 25, 1933.  She went to school for a very short time in Sanderson, TX.  She married George R. Gomez on November 13, 1949 in Arizona.  She was a homemaker with no schooling and no degree, but she was very smart; she always tried to help her kids with homework and she always stressed how important a good education is to have.  Mom loved to cook but more than cooking she loved to eat especially her empanadas.  She also loved children, she had 13 children, she adopted one to make 14 of her own; but she could not stop there, she would babysit grandkids and some our friend’s kids as well.  She babysat up to 12 kids at one time by herself and she would cook breakfast and lunch for all the kids she would babysit.  Mother always liked being outside working on the yard.  She had a lot of trees, flowers but her favorite were her roses.

Come Saturday morning, November 16, 2019, she was surrounded by family that loved her so much when she was lifted by the angels that she so much loved and taken to receive her own set of wings.

Guadalupe is preceded in death by her husband, George Gomez; son, Albert; both parents; grandsons, J.J. Juarez and Justin Daniel Sauceda.

Guadalupe is survived by six sons, George Gomez, Jr. (Vickie), Edward Gomez, Robert Gomez (Nancy), Johnny Gomez, Christopher Gomez, all of Odessa, TX and Victor Gomez (Inez) of Houston, TX; Seven daughters, Mary Jane Anchondo (Pete), Cruz Gomez, Gloria Juarez (Ysirdo), Rosa Ramirez (Edward), Barbara Gomez, Liz Aguilar (Ruben), and Veronica Sauceda (Robert, Jr.) all of Odessa, TX; one sister, Maria Salazar of Monahans, TX; 36 grandchildren; a numerous amount of great grandkids and great, great grandkids.
