Francisco “Kiko” Portillo Manriquez, age 80, of Presidio, Texas passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2019 surrounded by his family at his home in Odessa, Texas.  Rosary will be held on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at 6:00 pm at Martinez Funeral Home.  A second rosary will be held in Presidio, Texas at 7:00 pm on Thursday, January 2, 2020 at Santa Teresa de Jesus Catholic Church in Presidio.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Friday, January 3, 2020 in Presidio at Santa Teresa de Jesus Catholic Church with Father Mike officiating. Burial will follow at Desert Hills.  Arrangements are entrusted to Martinez Funeral Home.  Francisco was born on October 20, 1939 in Presidio, Texas. He was the son of the late Manuel and Petra (Portillo) Manriquez. He graduated from Presidio High School. He married Sofia Rodriguez on May 7, 1961 in Ojinaga, Chihuahua.  They were married for 58 years and had 6 children.  Francisco was a mechanic, winch truck driver and also a miner in Shafter, Texas. He taught welding at Presidio High School. He attended church at Santa Teresa de Jesus in Presidio and was a member of the choir playing the guitar. He was also a KOK member. In his spare time, he loved to play the guitar for his family and friends. He also taught family members how to play guitar. Francisco was also an avid archer and hunter. Francisco is preceded in death by parents, Manuel and Petra Manriquez, brother Manuel Manriquez Jr., and son Martin Manriquez.

Francisco is survived by his wife Sofia R. Manriquez along with five children; Frank Jr. (Chiquita) Manriquez, Alfredo (Melanie) Manriquez, Luz (Suanette) Manriquez, Mary (Salvador) Covos and Isabel “Chavela” (Homero) Bejarano,  three brothers; Antonio ((Christine) Manriquez, Luis Manriquez, Nick (Griselda) Manriquez.  Francisco had 16 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. He was a kind, caring and loving husband, father and grandfather.

Pallbearers will be: Crystal Manriquez, Alfredo Martin Manriquez, Salvador Covos Jr., Marcos Covos, Evalie Bejarano and Gabriel Covos.  Memorials may be given at Martinez Funeral Home to Sofia Manriquez.
