John T. Hunt was born on September 27, 1942 to Mary F. Freeman and Eddie Hunt in Wortham, Texas. He earned his heavenly wings on April 17, 2018 in Odessa, Texas.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday April 21, 2018 at Greater St. John's Baptist Church in Odessa TX at 10 am. Burial will follow on Monday April 23, 2018 at 10 am at Ector County Cemetery, Section: Odessa II Gardens.
J.T. attended public schools in Wortham, Texas and Blackshear in Odessa, Texas. He worked for 14 years at the Shimp Boat in Odessa. He then worked for ECISD for 5 years. He later retired from WD and Ellen Noel Investments after 34 years due to illness. He was a longtime and faithful member of Greater St. John’s Baptist Church and served on the Deacon Board until his health failed him.
J.T. was an attentive husband, easy-going friend and considerate father. By far, he was the best grandfather in the world; just ask any of his 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, John; two daughters, Patricia and Britt and his sister Tina.
He leaves to mourn, his loving wife of 48 years Glodean Hunt, his son Milton Ray (Virginia) Hunt; his daughters, Connie (Harry) Turner, Tanya (Charles) Morris from Odessa; Jackie (Jerrold) Rider and Evette O’Neil from Dallas; his sisters, Ida Dorn, Tanya Gentry, Rita Young, Eddie Young and Lola Williams; 4 surrogate children, C.L. Hunter, Eddie O’Neil, Deshana Hall and Vickie Holmes; his sisters and brothers, Pauline (Jimmy) Brooks, Joe (Joyce) Freeman, Billie Freeman, Gloria Jean, Willie Freeman, Thelma, Ivory (Kenneth) Busby, Bobby Joe, Margaret (Jimmy) Alexander, Mary; his grandchildren, his great-grandchildren and numerous of relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.
