Troy Lee Ellis was welcomed into the world on May 31, 1950 to the parents of Seamon Ellis Jr. and Theresa Ellis. To this union six children were born. Troy, the eldest child was born in Colorado City, Texas. He accepted Christ at an early age and attended Rose of Sharon Baptist Church, where he served as a Junior Deacon. He attended Carver Elementary, Blackshear Junior Senior High and graduated from Ector High School in 1968. He attended Odessa College.
Troy loved sports. He was an avid basketball player in school. He was a three-time Letterman. Upon graduation from high school, he helped to form a volunteer service group called The Quarterback Club. Troy was sometimes called the sideline referee. Many said he could call the penalties before the referee knew the play. He loved the Dallas Cowboys, World Wrestling and western movies. Troy was really a great pit master. Cards and dominoes were his hobbies. He was known for his friendly manner and his infectious laughter.
He was a hard worker and a consummate salesman. He was employed by Sears and Roebuck, Montgomery Ward, Texas Attorney General Office, Warren Petroleum, and also worked for the piping industry.
He departed this life on December 31, 2017.

Troy was married to Dovie Greene. In this marriage one child was born, a loving daughter Tracy Lynell Ellis.

Troy is preceded in death by his father Seamon Ellis Jr., mother Theresa Ellis, two brothers Travis Ellis and Gene Ellis.

He leaves to cherish his memories daughter Tracy Ellis Harrison of Manor, Texas, grandson Shamar Harrison of Manor, Texas, brother Robert Ellis (Elly) of the Netherlands, sisters Virginia Rosser (John) of Belleville, Illinois, Slvia Wilson (Jimmie) of Lubbock, Texas, step mother Merlene Ellis of Sundown Texas, uncle Jesse Kemp of Midland Texas, a host of nephews, nieces, friends and the S. T. and Ruby Greene family.
